Happy Thanksgiving!

Cooked my first turkey today and it turned out pretty good! (Well, I didn't eat any but all the carnivores said it was yummy.) Another day spent getting to know the future in-laws. K kept apologizing to me for her dad "talking my ear off" but I rather enjoy the man's company! Bright fellow and lots to talk about...plus, he kept me entertained while I was cooking. K's mom is very sweet. K has much more in common with her mom than she led on, especially some of her mannerism's and jargon.

Going to bed! I know it's early...shoot, I am turning in to an old man. - A

The In-Laws

Met the future in-laws today and it was really nice. Damn, I was pretty freaking nervous about meeting them...up until today I was faceless and distant to them, just some dude that their daughter is going to marry. K kept assuring me that they are great people and that I was worrying for nothing - thank heavens she was right! It's been a long time since I actually cared what someone thought of me.

They met us at the house and we sat around and talked for a while before heading off to dinner at some Mexican joint. Her dad had a chicken buttito, her mom had a plain chicken burrito, K had a cheese enchilada, and I had a cheese enchilada / bean tostada combination.

What a surreal day. - A

Going to California

K purchased me an airline ticket today so I can go with her to Santa Barbara for Christmas! Originally we thought our first Christmas together would be spent apart and were not at all pleased at the idea. But, airline prices dropped and Ms. Beautiful surprised me with a ticket.

I'm the most fortunate man on the planet. - A

Yes!

I asked K to marry me tonight and she said, "yes"! I love her with all my soul and want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with her as husband and wife.

The best day of my life....so far. - A
