Back to work

Today is my first day back at work after two weeks of paternity leave. It's surprisingly nice to be back. I figure that life won't settle into anything resembling a 'routine' until both of us are back at work, so this is the first step.

During two weeks of paternity leave I learned the following:

  • I can still function quite well on very little sleep.
  • K requires much more sleep than do I.
  • Waking up in the wee hours of the night to care for a sweet little baby is really not all that bad.
  • Newborn babies are much easier to care for than 17-month old's.
  • I have an amazing mother.
  • I have amazing in-laws.
  • Baby girls tend to wet the back of a diaper, boys the front.
  • After two weeks of changing diapers I still feel as though I should cover my eyes when my daughters private parts are exposed.
  • I tire of TV quickly and most everything on TV is a total waste of time.
  • Being "unplugged" or "offline" for two weeks can be quite refreshing.
  • I am blessed to have a great wife and two incredible children.

Well, I don't suspect my employer wants to pay me to blog. Time to cross some stuff off my to-do list.

Weclome Isabelle Sage

Isabelle Sage was born at 10:57pm today. She weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs (9 lbs 15.8 ounces, to be exact) and, luckily for mom, the delivery was relatively quick.

Welcome to this world little lady, we are so incredibly lucky to have you in our lives.
