Windows Explorer - Setting Folder View as default

To set Windows Explorer to open with “Folder View” as the default, do the following:

  • Open Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E)
  • Open Folder View
  • Select Tools / Folder Options / File Types
  • Under Registered File Types, browse to and select:
    (NONE) Folder
  • Click on Advanced
  • Under Actions select Explore
  • Select Set Default
  • OK out

This worked on my Windows XP Pro box. I will test it on my Windows XP Home box later. If you have another method please post it!
